When does a conspiracy stop becoming a conspiracy? The news of Hillary Clinton’s collapse yesterday followed by her diagnoses of Pneumonia has given Trump’s supporters something concrete.
It has been one of Trump’s major cards in the US elections, whilst many have disregarded it as conspiracies and rumours there is no doubt that Hillary Clinton is suffering from health issues. So what ramifications could this have on this year’s US elections?
Will Hillary Clinton drop out of the US elections?
The severity of her illness will likely dictate the outcome of this latest episode, although the decision as to what happens from here onward is at Clinton’s disposal. If she decides to carry on despite mounting concerns, Trump could take the lead at such a crucial time in the electoral stage.
If she decides to drop out, Bernie Sanders or Tim Kaine could fill her position as the next democratic Nominee, with Kaine the more likely as existing Vice Presidential candidate.
The question then remains as to how both potential candidates will stack up against the polls, with Trump now narrowing in the polls, the news of Clinton’s health could not have come at such a crucial time in the campaign.
What will happen if Clinton remains in the campaign
Given that Pneumonia is a lung infection, and given that such an illness can take weeks to recover for even in the healthiest of individuals, Trump now has a major card in winning this year’s US elections.
And with Clinton already in the spotlight for misinformation regarding leaked emails, the latest cover up of her health only adds another spanner in the works. Whilst Trump remains an unpopular candidate amongst many, a physically ill President is equally going to make US voters nervous.
Has this latest episode damaged Clinton’s chances for US Presidency? At such a crucial time in the campaign, and especially given that the polls are narrowing, could this be the end of Clinton’s campaign?
